Snow Day Cover Sheet
This sheet provides contact information for all the 4th grade teachers. It also overviews what the purpose is for the non-traditional instruction days. Students are expected to complete work on the snow days. It is important that the students show that learning occurred.

Snow Day Learning Log
The Learning Log documents what students are expected to complete EACH snow day. Students should choose 1 activity from EACH box on the learning log. The goal is for each box to take 20-30 minutes to complete. This includes Reading, a Writing Prompt (they should choose a different one for each snow day), Reading Response (they can do either an online reading program or one of the reading response questions), Math (they can do either an online program or the Snow Day Math sheet), and a Special Area activity (choose ONE for each snow day). There is also a place to record reading response questions and math work if they choose to do the paper/pencil format. Students can also just turn in a white piece of paper with their work on it.

Snow Day Reading Response
If students choose to do the written reading response rather than an online program, they choose one of these reading response options and answer the question based on the reading they did for 30 minutes (see Learning Log). They can record their response on the learning log or on a white piece of paper. Again, remember, the goal is 20-30 minutes of work on this activity.
If you have internet at home, students can get on their designated online reading program. This could be Lexia or Reading Plus. Their login and passwords should be the same as their login for the computer. The Rosenwald school code is "dunbar." On Lexia, if it asks for teacher email, see the Snow Day Cover Sheet for your child's teacher email.
